Packing system for espresso coffee capsules

The smartCAP^® patented system is made of a simple and compact unit that fills and packs single-use capsules of espresso coffee, each capsule weighting about 7gr.
The heart of the system is the food-grade plastic capsule with integrated filter and cover.
Based on the machine configuration, the smartCAP^® system can handle either pre-ground coffee, or coffee beans to be ground to the required size.
Once loaded the empty capsules, coffee and packing film onto machine stations, the automatic cycle starts with volumetric coffee dosing.
After coffee pressing, the integrated cap is closed on the capsule body; the capsules are then convoyed to the gravimetric weighting control system.

At the end of the cycle the capsules are packed by continued insufflation of nitrogen to preserve freshness and coffee aroma.
All the production data (lot number and expiry date) are printed on the sealed package.

The smartCAP^® system is managed by electrical system with PLC; all the commands are placed on the control panel where a simple and user-friendly touch-screen display allows to program and control the whole machine.
The machine can be supplied in two different base versions, with or without coffee grinder, and with following accessories:

capsules feeding system with vibratory bowl and buffer hopper
discharge belt for packaging
residual oxygen detector, used when packing with nitrogen.
